( fortunately(?) for koga, miai is Always at ready to head out on a date, so it really doesn't take him too long to get ready and get there once he gets the address.

when he arrives, he's dressed in quite nice formal-casual wear, as though for a proper date— even knowing koga might not feel the same in the slightest about the whole affair, given miai is the one pestering him, presenting decently is the least he can do. rings~ the doorbell, waiting patiently. )

[ "why are you like this" feels like the typical sort of response to whatever miai does, but koga's at the door, dressed in a tasteful graphic print t-shirt and dark jeans. it's at least noticeable he put care into into dressing for it, even if he leans towards being more casual. The wristbands and the necklace he's got on match. ]

...Okay if you found some 3-star Michelin bullshit, I still ain't changing.

[ should he say something about miai's date attire, or the fact he can tell from miles away it's date attire? well for now he won't, because food. ]

( he looks up and down, a laugh in his grin with how he can tell koga pointedly refused to dress for a date, but still dressed nice enough. koga was, honestly, a good person— that's what made teasing him just so satisfying. )

Mm, don't worry. I think what you're wearing is suited enough. Besides, it's very "you," so I'd be lying if I said it weren't endearing ... ♪

( he makes a gentlemanly "after you" gesture )

Shall we go? Really, as long as you enjoy yourself, I'm happy enough.

[ he's not dressed for a date because it ain't a date! as in yes he's very deliberate about it, as he would be but still... caring enough. he has a hand on his hip, tilting forward a bit. ]

Save your cute talk for now, I'll lose my appetite after all this trouble you went through.

[ the gentlemanly gesture on miai's part makes the corner of his mouth twitch, but he walks past making a noncommittal sort of handwave at miai without looking at him. wherever they're off to for lunch, koga keeps it up along the way there. ]

( it's fine, he's pretty happy he's managed to snatch koga's time at all ♪

where miai ends up taking koga to is a place that looks quite nice in terms of quality, but is still clearly semi-casual. most markedly, though, it's more like a recolle version of lazy dog cafe— meaning that people are encouraged to (and very much do) bring their dogs to the outside seating areas, and their (leashed) dogs enjoy peering curiously at other dogs and happily get lavished with attention as guests compliment each other on their sweet canine friends.

though a cat person himself, he's taken plenty of dates here before, since it seems to delight them. besides, dogs are cute. he makes a small arc with his arm, as though to reveal some trick like a magician. )

Ta-dah ♪ I thought you might like it, and it's not too formal. The food really isn't bad, either, though it's mostly American. Not bad, right?

( he tried to put thought into this, despite, honestly, not knowing koga all that well. praise him...!! )
